Daniel Lang (1935-2013) was an American painter whose evocative landscapes combined realism with poetic imagination. Born in Oklahoma, Lang pursued his MFA at the University of Iowa and received fellowships from Yaddo and MacDowell. His luminous, atmospheric paintings, inspired by extensive travels, have been critically acclaimed as "intellectual autobiographies." Lang exhibited internationally, including prominent galleries in New York and London. His works are represented in collections such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Tate, and the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery.
